Almost 80 years ago, Kurt Schmidt founded a steel
products factory in Germany’s centre for cutlery manufacturing, Solingen.
Jaguar was first introduced as the brand name for his range of specialised
hairdressing scissors and in the late 1960’s became the company's trading
name.
The Jaguar company soon became one of the leading
manufacturers of specialised hairdressing scissors in the world, marketing
their product into more than 80 countries.
Today, Jaguar scissors are still manufactured
in their country of origin (Solingen, Germany), as well as having established
their own production works in Osaka, Japan.
The forged blanks, initially contoured by a drop
hammer, are hardened by heating to 1050oC, sub-zero quenched (Jaguar’s
own patented Friodur deep freeing process)
o -180C, then finally tempered to a Rockwell
hardness of 59-60RC. |

Over 120 working cycles (including several
quality checks) are carried out for every pair of Jaguar scissors
before they leave the factory.
JaguART Scissors:
As part of the proven Jaguar Comfort-Class range
of professional hair-dressing scissors, JaguART scissors are manufactured
as a limited production run each year. The colourful designs are
permanently applied to the scissors through a special process that does
not affect the outstanding cutting characteristics of the proven Jaguar
Comfort Class. Each application creates an individual imprint, making each
pair a one-of-kind imprint.
From the wild SAFARI to the mysterious
JUNGLE
and glamorous PRETTY PINK – each model has its own unique fingerprint.
Slice/cut blades that are highly polished stainless
steel, hollow ground with hand honed blades. Detachable stopper
and finger rest-for balance and comfort. Long lasting scissors with a bit

and an additional pair of different coloured finger rings are included

As with all Jaguar scissors, Jaguart professional
hairdressing scissors are ergonomically designed with a short thumb
handle that relieves stress on the thumb, ensuring relaxed working and
all-day comfort. Both cutting edges are also hollow ground and honed, making
them a great pair of scissors for slice cutting. All three designs available

Jaguar’s Ergo (# 82650) Pre-style
Jaguars Ergo Pre-style scissors mostsuitable
for home hairdressing, men's grooming and trade trainees. These entry level
scissors are comfortable to use and made to Jaguar's uncomprimising standard
of manufacturer and inspection.
One blade has has a full hollow-ground blade while
the second blade bears tiny serrations that gently grip the hair
while it is being cut (rather than letting it slide away or move forward
while you try to cut!). These micro-serrations also allow you to
grip and cut wet hair. A straight line cut with a minimum of fuss! Complete
with a detachable stopper and finger rest for both balance and comfort,
the ring inserts can be removed for those with larger
fingers.
With a blade length of 5cm, and overall length
of 14cm including the finger rest, the Ergo’s design is also the perfect
scissor for personal trimming needs, including men's moustaches and pesky
hairgrowth.
