As of 1 January, 2010, the AKC will no longer accept new membership
applications from those under 18 years of age. A scan (or photocopy/photo)
of drivers licence or other approved form of identification must accompany
all new applications. (Identification documents are destroyed; other submitted
details are secured and held confidentially.) Under-age knifemakers and
collectors are welcome to continue their contact with the AKC, under the
guidance and assistance of their parent/guardian.

Please include a scan of your drivers licence or approved identification
with your application form. Upon acceptance, your card and membership
package should reach you in around 10 -12 working days.
Special conditions for Victorian Membership.
Australasian Knife Collectors (AKC) financial members are covered by
the Club's exemption for the collecting of swords and double edged
knives (daggers) in Victoria. Please read carefully to ensure you
understand the extent of the exemption and your responsibilities.

Special conditions for Western Australian knife users:
As of 1 Jan 2010, it is against the law in Western Australia to purchase,
sell to, or supply controlled weapons (including daggers, large
bladed machetes... goloks, parangs, klewang, golang, and swords and tantos)
to anyone under 18 years of age. Purchasers in WA of such items
are required to provide proof of age.
