Random: A randomly distributed pattern on the flat section, with  a laminated 'stripy' effect as material is ground deeper and contoured

Vinland: Vinland is a random type pattern, forged from bars of the concentric lamination  type and formed by randomly disrtibuted hammering during the forging process. Vinland characteristcially has a  'heartwood' in the middle of the blade phase, and a 'fingerprint' in the blade tip area. Ground and black bars in stock.

Twist: Two patterns develop as contours deepen: Cross-roads: a band of crosses follow the line where the grinding depth is deepest. Eyeline: a band of 'eyes' follow the line where the grinding depth is minimal.

Odin's Eye: Pattern coining on billets with concentric damascene layers gives 'eyes' in the center and wavy structure towards the edges.  Patterns are distinct closer  to a flat surface, with deeper contours reverting to a more stripy pattern

Rose: Rose is pattern coined to a knotty surface.  After grinding, concentric rings are seen in the middle part. The pattern is more random-like towards the edge. Patterns are distinct and clear closer to a flat surface, with deeper contours reverting to a more stripy pattern.

Muhammeds Ladder: A 'Bluetounge' mosaic bar coined in a ladder tool.  The pattern is best observed closer to the flat surface, becoming less pronounced as it  contours towards the cutting edge.

Heimskringla: A twisted mosaic bar. Like all twists, the mosaic pattern is best seen closer to the edge where the grinding contour is deeper.
