20TH ANNIVERSARY KNIFE
celebrating 20 years: 1990-2010
The Australasian Knife Collectors (AKC) concept was founded
by Keith Spencer in 1990 and from its inception incorporated the AKC
Club.
The AKC Club Knife, a typically Aussie Barlow Bunny pocketknife
and synonymous with settlement of the nation, has been hand-made by skilled
English craftsmen.
This practical-collectable pocketknife with an etched blade bears the
maker’s trademark stamp ‘A. Wright & Son Ltd Sheffield England’ and
signifies the English-Australian cutlery link that originated upon the
arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney in 1788.
Flagship of A. Wright’s ‘Willing Worker’ series of English-made pocketknives
marketed by AKC Mailorder, this historic Barlow Bunny commemorative has
a 6.5-cm mirror-polished high carbon blade, Rosewood scales and polished
nickel silver and brass furnishings. Closed, it measures 9-cm.

Lockback folder by Camillus-USA, and
customized to AKC requirements
by the famous Sante Fe Stoneworks (USA). A 6.5
cm stainless blade, pattern #885, nickelsilver bolster, brass liners and
hidden pins, wooden scale pile side, marked side stamped Camillus New York,
USA, and Sante Fe Stoneworks etched on blade, with nickle silver, torquoise
stone and wood kangaroo inlay in reconstituted natural timbers.
9 cms closed.
Camillus-USA knife manufacturers no longer exists
so the knife has become a collector's item in itself ...Santa Fe stoneworks
still proudly plies its work and continues to customise top-quality bladeware
across the USA.
